Plastisol Printing
Plastisol inks wrap around the fibers of the garment. Garments that have been printed and cured with Plastisol are easily washed, and the graphic will be sustained or a long period of time, as long as the garment is not dry-cleaned or ironed directly on the graphic.
Water Based Printing
Water based prints give a soft hand, it blends directly into the fabric so you don’t feel the ink. This type of printing works best with dark colors onto light garments. This creates a highly breathable printed garment.
Non-PVC Printing
The Future is now, Catalyst recommends Non-PVC and Phthalate Free Inks. It has been reported that there are no other plastics which pose the direct environmental and human health risks as PVC. Phthalates or “Plasticizers” are found in many Vinyl based inks, they are used to soften the feel of the material. The good news is, there are safer alternatives to PVC/Phthalate based inks and that we are successfully phasing out PVC use. Our Non-PVC inks look and feel just like standard Plastisol Based Prints.
Discharge Printing
Discharge printing involves removing the pigment of the garment and replacing it with the ink color. This means that the graphic is cured directly into the shirt fabric unlike plastisol inks, which are placed on the shirt fibers.
Process Printing
Classic process printing is based on using tiny dots to simulate a fade from one color to another. This is done by varying dot size or dot spacing. The finest halftone prints can result in near photo-quality images. Process printing usually requires a higher number of screens as well as additional film separation work. The results are typically very high-end and have a soft feel.
Standard Halftone Printing
Standard halftone printing is based on using tiny dots to simulate a fade from one color to another. This is done by varying dot size or dot spacing. The larger halftone dots require less prepress work than Process Printing. The cool thing about this method is that it can be used to create shading in a one color print or add a Pop Culture image effect to a photo with minimal print cost.
Sublimation Printing
Sublimation printing is excellent for all athletic teams and organizations. From motocross jersey to soccer uniforms these prints are guaranteed to last through the toughest abuse to maintain vibrant and intricate graphics.
Digital Transfer Printing
This procedure offers photo quality graphics combined with no set-up fees or minimums. It is an excellent choice for complicated graphics and one off designs. Our digital transfers look and feel like plastisol ink and are guaranteed to last through dozens of washes.
Direct to Garment Digital Printing
This option can print digital images directly onto your garment offering a breathable and soft image. With no minimums or setup fees this is another excellent choice for complicated graphics and one off designs. Direct to garment digital printing looks and feels like water based ink, it is guaranteed to last through dozens of washes, and works best when printing dark on a light garment.
Burnout Printing
State of the art printing is only done on cotton/poly blends. This process removes the cotton in a desired graphic or pattern leaving only the polyester behind. The burned out section of the garment are thinner and slightly more transparent than the rest of the shirt. This technique is very popular in women’s fashion.
Over Seam / Zip Printing
Catalyst can print on any part of a shirt, as long as you can imagine the location we can print on it. Placing ink over collars and seams gives your shirts a custom hand made look and feel.
Metallic Inks
We have metallic inks in a variety of colors, these metallic inks can be used to add depth to your designs.
Glitter Inks
Think Bass Boat glitter! Glitter inks come in a variety of colors and can bring a bit of light catching sparkle to your design.
Reflective Inks
This is the real deal 3M reflective substrate; the industry standard material for nighttime safety worldwide.
Foil
Foil printing allows your designs to be shimmering and vibrant. Foil can be used by itself or with other types of inks. It is placed onto the shirt with an adhesive. Foil is available in gold, copper, silver, green, pink, blue, and purple.
Gel Print
Hight Gloss Gel Print can be used multiple ways. On it’s own and printed thick is can give a nice gel print effect, this is most visible on darker fabric and has a raised tonal dark wet look. It can also be printed over a color adding a sticky shiny texture. Lastly, it can be printed between two layers of ink giving a 3D effect do to the space between the layers of color.
Photochromic
These inks change from clear or nearly clear to a visible color when going from indoor to outdoor lighting.
Thermochromatic
These inks change from one color to anther based on temperature.
Crystalina
Crystalina adds another level of glitter and sparkle to the print, it’s available in a number of colors and textures.
Hi-Square / 3D Printing
High square printing is a dimensional print with a crisp raised edge. These prints stand between .5- 2 mm off the surface of the garment.
Sueded Inks
These inks add a sueded texture to the print. This gives designs an added element, and a multi-layer effect.
Puff Inks
Puff inks will add volume and depth to your designs. These can add a unique feel and look to your tees.
Glow in the Dark / Black Light Inks
